My paintings arise from nowhere. I stand in front of the canvas and I just start. The world around me disappears. I am traveling in a universe with endless possibilities. Once finished I am tired of all the impressions. What appears on the canvas is a reflection of the trip.
When I am outside in nature, and also when I watch my paintings, which are in fact landscapes too, I zoom in on details. This way, through the lens of the camera, new images appear. Via my eyes they are connected with the original painting. meer
When taking pictures my eyes are viewfinders, zooming in and zooming out. From macro to micro and back. Incessant focus diversion. The camera captures while I travel. Through landscapes, buildings, bodies, through all things I am watching.
